Financial Modeling training held in collaboration with NSE Academy & FMI Canada
3 December, 2024, Bengaluru: Centre for Capital Markets and Risk Management (CCMRM)—a Centre of Excellence at IIM Bangalore, in association with NSE Academy and Financial Modeling Institute (FMI), Canada, conducted a Faculty Development Workshop, ‘The Transformative Impact of Financial Modeling in Finance and Accounting', to examine the growing global consensus on the indispensable role of financial modeling expertise, on 21 November, 2024.
The event brought together over 110 faculty members for a hands-on training session on high-demand skills such as— financial analysis, investment, forecasting, budgeting, and evaluation.
Keynote speaker for the event, Ian Schnoor, Executive Director, FMI, outlined how financial modeling, and its stronghold on data, assumptions and projections, has set new global benchmarks in decision-making, and as a result, enabled companies to navigate complexity with precision.
Dr. Aishwarya Krishna, Adjunct Faculty, IIMB, tackled the impact of Large Language Models such as ChatGPT on the discipline. Her insights explored the intersection of traditional financial modeling, and sparked conversations on the tools of tomorrow that will shape the financial analysts of today.
