During the industry visit, PGP, PGPEM and EPGP students were part of discussions on sustainability initiatives, sectoral challenges, circular economy practices and skills for future leaders
3 February, 2025, Bengaluru: As part of the course, ‘CEO's Agenda Towards Climate Action’, an industry visit was organized to Toyota Kirloskar Motor Private Limited (TKM) in Bidadi industrial area for the students of IIM Bangalore, on 2nd January 2025. Designed by Professor Deepti Ganapathy, Chairperson and faculty of the Centre for Management Communication, IIMB, this unique course is a first-of-its-kind in India.
At the TKM plant, the students had an interaction with Srinivasa C, Division Head – Sustainability (ESG) Promotion, TKM. The visit included an immersive ecozone walk and a guided tour of Genba, TKM's manufacturing facility. This was followed by a panel discussion moderated by Prof Deepti Ganapathy at the Ecozone open air auditorium with panelists from TKM leadership team – Sudeep S Dalvi, Senior Vice President and Director – Technical and Purchase, Chief Communication Officer, Padmanabha P, Executive Vice President & Director – Manufacturing, and Keshava G, Vice President.
Participants from IIMB’s Post Graduate Programme in Management (PGP), Post Graduate Programme in Enterprise Management (PGPEM) and Executive Post Graduate Programme in Management (EPGP) engaged in an enriching interaction with the senior leadership team of TKM during the field visit. The discussions spanned diverse topics such as sustainable product design, circular economy practices, sustainability initiatives, sectoral challenges, and the skills required of future leaders.
