The programme with case studies offers insights into sustainability, corporate governance, social responsibility and ESG strategies of companies
30 September, 2024, Bengaluru: The Executive Education Programmes (EEP) Office at IIM Bangalore hosted the valedictory of the 4th batch of the programme, ‘ESG - Management, Reporting and Communication’, on 20 September 2024.
Programme Directors Prof. Deepti Ganapathy, Chairperson and faculty, Centre for Management Communication, IIMB, and Prerna Wadikar, delivered the concluding remarks for the three-day Open programme, which included participants who are top leaders representing diverse industries.
Congratulating the students on successfully completing the programme, Prof. Padmini Srinivasan, Chairperson of Executive Education Programmes and Centre for Corporate Governance & Sustainability, and faculty of the Finance & Accounting area of IIMB, said that the continued success of the programme is sure to result in EEP offering many more batches of it in the future.
The programme faculty included Alok Mishra and Prof. Anil B Suraj, Chairperson, N.S. Ramaswamy Pre-doctoral Fellowship as well as the Committee on Diversity & Inclusion and faculty of Public Policy at IIMB, who conducted sessions on practical challenges from the industry perspective and the role of effective governance in implementing ESG.
Sharing the key takeaways from the short-duration programme, one of the participants said, “The three-day ESG programme provided me with a comprehensive introduction to important principles and frameworks such as GRI and SASB. It was highly practical, with case studies that offered real-world insights into how companies implement ESG strategies. The programme helped me better understand the nuances of sustainability, corporate governance and social responsibility, which are crucial for my future career.”
