Symposium on 'Advancing Sustainability Research and Education'
About the Symposium
Sustainable economic development is a global challenge, but is also particularly acute in India where a growing population, youth unemployment, and environmental degradation are matched by an increasing demand for reliable energy, clean water, sanitation services, education and economic opportunities.
As part of the Obama Singh 21st Century Knowledge Initiative, the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore and the UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School have partnered and committed to "Advancing Sustainability Research and Education" which is also the title of the 2015 symposium.
The gathering seeks to advance research that ultimately might address sustainability concerns related to economic growth and develop curricular materials to provide education to young people that enable them to positively contribute to India's future. The aim of the conference is to bring together researchers, teachers and practitioners and create a community of sustainability scholars and practitioners.
This conference is organized with financial support from Obama Singh 21st Century Knowledge Initiative grant through the US-India Educational Foundation. The Symposium will also be held in collaboration with Wipro who will be co-hosting the second day of the conference.
