EPGP student-run social impact initiative, Prayaas, empowers future entrepreneurs with ‘Youth Udyami’

EPGP cohort organizes year-long Youth Entrepreneurship project for budding innovators from Classes 10 to 12

19 July, 2024, Bengaluru: Prayaas, the social responsibility initiative by the students of IIM Bangalore’s one-year, full-time MBA for experienced professionals, Executive Post Graduate Programme in Management (EPGP), is organizing a year-long Youth Entrepreneurship project, ‘Youth Udyami’. The social-impact initiative aims to foster entrepreneurship among high school students from Classes 10 to 12, empowering them to become self-reliant and catalysts for India's economic growth.

Through a series of planning, business activities and market testing, participants are expected to come up with a startup idea with zero or minimal initial investments and build a working model of this business over the next few months. They will progress through multiple stages, each focusing on key aspects of starting and running a successful business. This includes developing a problem statement, defining a customer profile, and building financial, scaling and launch plans.

Students are encouraged to launch their business with no more than ₹100 in investment. From the 200 applications received, the top 50 candidates will receive invitations to present their ideas in-person, during a pitch presentation on July 28th, 2024, at the IIM Bangalore campus.

Selected participants will receive mentorship from the IIMB community and industry professionals, enhancing their business acumen and learning. Mentors will offer insights into industry best practices that participants can apply both during the project and in their future careers.  Final applications will be evaluated by esteemed IIMB professors and industry leaders on Prayaas day, tentatively scheduled for February 2025.
