IIMB celebrates diversity with ethnic meals on campus

Home to over 1.2 billion people, it isn’t a wonder that Indian food has managed to get a spot on the “Most Wanted” list of cuisines around the world. Indian cuisine, per say, is a misnomer, considering that not just the state, but the language, style and customs change every few hundred kilometres or less. Each region has recipes for dishes that has been passed down through generations. Each cuisine holds its ground with its unique blend of spices, herbs and other produce which reflects not just geographical specialities, but also distinct local preferences.
Home to over 1200 students from so many different states, speaking different languages, yet calling this campus their home away from home, IIMB celebrates this diversity with enthusiasm, fanfare, and of course, lots of delicious food.
The institute has 13+ regional dinners organized by students from different states— Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Bengal, Rajasthan, Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, Karnataka and more… Each dinner features delicacies from these respective states and is served by students dressed in traditional attire in the beautifully decorated mess hall.
On the eventful day, the faculty join the students, and the campus becomes one big family, celebrating the richness of India’s diversity.
