IIM Bangalore’s Hindi Cell conducts ‘Hindi Fortnight’ and ‘Hindi Day’ with contests

Event includes talks by IIMB Director Prof. RT Krishnan and Shri Ashok Kumar Billure, former ISRO official
14 September, 2022, Bengaluru: IIM Bangalore celebrated ‘Hindi Fortnight’ online from 1st to 14th September 2022, and ‘Hindi Day’ on 14th September 22, to promote the use of Hindi in various official activities, alongside encouraging the use of simple Hindi.
As part of ‘Hindi Fortnight’, a few contests were held such as ‘The Picture Speaks’, Hindi quiz on General Knowledge, Hindi quiz on Official Language and a handwriting competition for staff who are not connected with deskwork. Many activities were also held to mark ‘Hindi Day’.
In his address, Professor Rishikesha T Krishnan, Director, IIMB, said: “Every possible effort, at several levels, is being made at the Institute for the progressive use of the official language and I hail the Hindi Cell which conducts programs, competitions and workshops as part of the implementation.”
His address was followed by a talk titled, ‘Hindi – kal, aaj aur kal’ by the guest speaker Shri Ashok Kumar Billure, (Rtd.) Joint Director, Official Language, ISRO Bangalore. Col. S D Aravendan, Chief Administrative Officer, IIMB, also addressed the audience.
A message from Union Home Minister Amit Shah was sent to all faculty and non-teaching employees.
The event was hosted by Ms Sunita Mishra of the Hindi Cell. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by AK Tripathi, Hindi Cell of IIMB.
