IIM Bangalore ranked Number One in the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) Rankings 2019

9 April, 2019, Bengaluru: IIM Bangalore has been ranked Number One in the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) Rankings 2019, under the Management category, released yesterday. The awards were facilitated by Honourable President of India Shri. Ramnath Kovind in New Delhi, where 1,479 institutions from across India participated in the process.
NIRF has been awarding annual rankings since 2016. This framework outlines a methodology to rank institutions across the country. Since its inception, NIRF has been awarding ranks to the universities in the country based on certain parameters such as teaching, learning & resources, research & professional practice, graduation outcome, outreach & inclusivity and perception. In its fourth year, it has released ranks in nine categories: Overall, universities, engineering, colleges, management, pharmacy, medical, architecture and law.
According to Professor G. Raghuram, Director, IIM Bangalore, “It is an honour that IIM Bangalore has been ranked Number One in the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) Rankings 2019, under the Management category, released yesterday. This is entirely due to the efforts of the IIMB Faculty and Staff – both current and former, Past Leadership, the Board, Students and Alumni, and the supporting eco-system. I would specifically give credit to the earlier leadership of the institute and the response of the faculty and staff, at least over the past decade, who have often made difficult, but the right choices in setting the direction for and contributing to the institute. This has paid off in terms of Research and Professional Practice, and Teaching, Learning and Resources. IIM Bangalore has often been the pioneer in Outreach and Inclusivity. All this has enhanced the positive Perception and the Graduation Outcomes, especially in attracting top-rated students into IIM Bangalore.”
