The context and content of management education is changing rapidly because of advancement of technology and declining cost of computing. While high quality content is available almost free of cost, it is becoming increasingly challenging to capture the attention and imagination of students. Thus, there is a strong need to understand and redefine the role of a teacher so that technology can be leveraged to facilitate learning and education that is relevant in a volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous environment.
The Centre for Teaching and Learning at IIM Bangalore has been set up to understand evolving best practices of teaching and learning and to disseminate such understanding for increasing teaching effectiveness.
In collaboration with leading centres of learning across the world, CTL is involved in research pertaining to pedagogy, learning and education.
CTL conduct teaching workshops for faculty and doctoral students, thus acting as a national resource for improving the standards of teaching in institutes of higher education.
