IIMB professors honoured as Best Teachers at the 18th Dewang Mehta Business School Awards
IIMB is proud to present two faculty members who have been honoured at the 18th Dewang Mehta Business School Awards. The award ceremony was held in Mumbai on November 24, 2010.
Professor Rupa Chanda received the award for Best Teacher in Economics.
Professor Rishikesha T Krishnan received the award for Best Teacher in Strategic Management.
The Dewang Mehta Business School Award recognises talent and leadership amongst business schools across India. The Awards are supported by Ms Shaila Mehta-Director, Onward Foundation for Dewang Mehta Awards. The Patron is Mr Harish Mehta, Chairman & Managing Director Onward Technologies Ltd. The Chairman of the Jury was Dr Prasad Medury, Partner, Amrop International.
Set up in the memory of the late Dewang Mehta, the award is in recognition of leadership, development, innovation and industry interface of the business school.
About Professor Rupa Chanda: Dr Rupa Chanda teaches courses in Macroeconomics and delivers lectures on International Trade in various programmes. Currently, she is Chairperson of the Economics and Social Sciences area at IIMB. Prior to joining IIMB in 1997, she had worked as an Economist at the International Monetary Fund in Washington DC. She has been a consultant for various Indian and international organizations such as OECD, WHO, UNDP, and ILO. She has served as a member of several committees set up by the Government of India. Dr Chanda’s research interests concern multi-lateral trade liberalization, WTO and services, regional integration, and migration. She has several books to her credit. Dr Chanda received her PhD in Economics from Columbia University and has a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Harvard University.
About Professor Rishikesha T Krishnan: Dr Rishikesha T Krishnan currently chairs the Corporate Strategy & Policy area at IIMB. Professor Krishnan is also a member of the board of the Strategic Management Forum of India. Professor Krishnan has been studying innovation by organizations in India for over 15 years. He joined IIMB in May, 1996. Other than writing extensively, Professor Rishikesha T Krishnan has been a member of committees set up by the Government of India, the Confederation of India Industry and the National Association of Software and Service Companies related to innovation in India. Dr Krishnan is a Fellow from IIM Ahmedabad, and holds an MS degree from Stanford University and MS from IIT Kanpur.
