IIMB gears up for its 1st India Conference on Innovation, Intellectual Property and Competition
Registrations are open for participants from industry, academia and policy makers
AUGUST 26, 2015: The Indian Institute of Management Bangalore announces its 1st India Conference on Innovation, Intellectual Property and Competition to be held on December 7 and 8, 2015. The conference aims at reinvigorating innovation conversations and re-igniting Schumpeterian forces of creative destruction in the Indian economy. The occasion will be a confluence of innovation scholars, policy makers and practitioners from India and abroad.
Spread over two days, the events will feature invited presentations from noted global academic scholars on economics and management of innovation. In addition there will be invited presentations from policy makers and regulators from Government of India and Indian State governments apart from thoughts shared by industry leaders from India Inc. The conference will also hold an evening Round Table on Day 1, December 7, at the ITC Gardenia, a city based hotel. The invited academic speakers attending the event include senior innovation scholars from University of California, Berkeley, Carnegie Mellon University, Georgia Institute of Technology, Georgetown University, Vanderbilt University and University of Florida. Industry experts from India Inc. and academics from top Indian universities will also speak at the conference.
Chirantan Chatterjee, Chair of the Organizing Committee and Faculty Member at IIM Bangalore, says: “India is at the cusp of transitioning in its innovation, IP and competition environment both in the digital and brick-and-mortar world. This conference aspires to contribute to these emerging discourses around innovation happening in India and its transformative impact on long run Indian economic growth.
