Gala Reunion Weekend of PGP 1978 at IIMB

Kal, Aaj Aur Kal: 1978 Once More!
The IIMB Campus was buzzing with activity over the weekend, rightly celebrated as the Reunion Weekend.
From the cool posters with cheery reunion messages to fun events, the red (errr..green) carpet was rolled out to welcome alumni from the batches of PGP’78, PGP ’88, and PGP ‘93, on December 20-22, 2013.
For PGP’78, it was a nostalgia-fuelled 35th year reunion on December 21, 2013. As the city’s temperature plummeted, the IIMB campus remained warm with laughter and spirited reflections tinted in sepia.
More than 30 alumni, along with their families, travelled from Singapore, Dubai and the United States to reconnect with their batch mates and re-live precious memories. Posing for photographs on the sprawling campus, catching up with professors, sharing anecdotes, they did it all.
Dean (Administration) Dr S Raghunath met and interacted with the alumni individually. Professor Ishwar Murthy, Professor C Manohar Reddy and Professor Vivek Moorthy were present at the reunion.
Expressing interest in the infrastructure and sustainability measures undertaken by the Institute, Ratee Apana, from the batch of 1978, exclaimed: “What a far cry from the barren land that was once the campus! People make a school and I’m happy to see our alma mater marked high in the area of management education.”
Retired faculty Vijay Padaki, Prasanna Chandra, V Nagadevara and Jagadish made the reunion all the more special with their presence.
“In 1978, I began teaching and I’m happy to say the batch of ’78 made it easy for me,” said Professor Prasanna Chandra. Professor Jagadish added,“The 1978 batch was, to me, the most creative one. We (faculty) and students would write and enact plays together!”
