Deepanshu Wadhwa, PhD scholar in the Organizational Behaviour area, IIMC, will present his research
22 JANUARY, 2024: Deepanshu will present his research on ‘Unveiling Managerial Perceptions of Transgender Individuals Through Stereotype Content Model’. His co-author is Prof. Chetan Joshi at IIM Calcutta.
This study examines the economic disenfranchisement and discrimination faced by transgender individuals in India. Employing the Stereotype Content Model, the investigation focuses on cisgender managers’ perceptions of transgender individuals within organizational settings. Results reveal that transgender individuals are consistently rated low on both warmth and competence, eliciting heightened feelings of pity among respondents.
Deepanshu is a fourth-year doctoral student. His primary research interests lie in the areas of diversity, equity, and inclusion. He also works on the topics of leader-member exchange and work-family conflict.
