Centre for Corporate Governance and Citizenship launches Responsible Business website initiative

The Centre for Corporate Governance and Citizenship (CCGC) at the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB) in collaboration with the British Council and the International Centre for Corporate Social Responsibility at the Nottingham University Business School launched the Responsible Business website initiative 'www.teachcsr.com' on August 22, 2012. The site has been created by the CCGC.
The objective of the website is to be a one-stop content site for resources pertaining to Corporate Responsibility, Corporate Governance and Business Ethics in India, for practitioners and academics and NGOs, and also create a network of professionals in the field of ethics and responsibility. In particular, www.teachcsr.com intends to target academia, including institutions engaged in training on Corporate Governance, Ethics, Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability. In addition, it is also meant for individuals in corporations and practitioners to augment their knowledge on Corporate Responsibility and related areas as also to enhance their own understanding on these areas. The site contains general sections such as News, Events, Did You Know? (Facts and definitions) and Articles. It contains separate sections for Academics, Practitioners and NGOs. It also contains a Directory and Videos on events such as workshops, conferences and panel discussions.
The launch event of the website was held to enhance Responsible Business awareness, so as to promote these practices across sectors, translating thought into action. The event was well attended with participants from Academia, Business, Civil Society, and MBA Students. The audience was welcomed by Manoj Chakravarti, Chief Operating Officer, CCGC. Professor Vasanthi Srinivasan, Chairperson, CCGC gave an overview of the website content and demonstrated how academia, corporate and civil society users can use the site. Participants also engaged in a discussion to further improve the content of the website and how users could participate in this process and be a part of the growing community in the advocacy of Responsible Business.
