Institute of South Asian Studies and Economics and Social Sciences Area at IIMB to collaborate on research

The Institute of South Asian Studies (ISAS) at the National University of Singapore (NUS) and the Economics and Social Sciences Area (ESS) at the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB) have entered into an agreement to collaborate on research.
ISAS organised an international workshop on 'Celling South Asia: The Mobile Phone's Impact on a Region' on February 17-18, 2011. Professor Tan Tai Yong, Director ISAS announced the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) recently entered into between ISAS and the IIMB's Economics and Social Sciences Area at this workshop. He pointed out that this is to mark the beginning of a long and fruitful association between the two institutes. Professor Subhashish Gupta of IIMB attended the workshop and presented a paper on India's telecommunications industry. Several collaborative research activities between the two institutes are in the pipeline.
