IIMB Paper awarded ICEGOV Certificate of Merit

The paper by Gopal Naik, Siddharth Joshi and K P Basavaraj titled Market Creation and Poverty Alleviation through Telecenters has been awarded the Title of Meritorious Paper for its contribution to the Practice of Electronic Governance in the 4th International Conference on the Theory and Practice of Electronic Governance held on October 25-28, 2010 at Beijing.
This paper is based on the Centre for Public Policy (CPP) action research project being conducted by the team in Gubbi Taluk, Tumkur district.
Siddharth Joshi who presented the paper said, "Considering that we were participating in the conference for the first time, this recognition of our work is very encouraging. The fact that the papers from all regions including North America, EU countries, Africa and Asia-Pacific were presented, and ours received acclaim was a proud moment for us. This award also highlights the salience of issues facing India in the realm of E-governance", said Siddharth Joshi.
