International Immersion in Korea inspires EPGP students
As part of the international immersion programme of the Executive Post Graduate Programme in Management (EPGP), the students of the EPGP Class of 2010-11 of IIM Bangalore made a two-week trip to South Korea in August, 2010 to witness and study the excellent progress the country has made. This year's international immersion programme was designed by the Korean Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST), Seoul, and the university's business school hosted the students during the tour.
The intent of the study tour organised by IIMB and designed as part of the EPGP curriculum is for students to get a first-hand experience of country and get acquainted with the culture, work ethos, education, industries, economic and business policies, which are instrumental in the accelerated growth of the nation. As Korean companies such as Samsung, LG, Hyundai have a prominent presence in India, with significant market share in their respective product categories, it was all the more relevant to study the strategies of the companies and the economic policies of the Korean government which has jointly brought about this ascendance.
