EPGP students win annual student management game ‘Chanakya’

Adesh Midha, Mohit Chouhan, Kartik Aggarwal & Mohommad Saquib Ansari trump 200 competitor teams from management schools from all over the country
02 November, 2016, Bengaluru: A four-member team of EPGP students from Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB) won 'Chanakya’, a management case contest organized by the All India Management Association (AIMA).
The team from IIMB comprises Adesh Midha, Mohit Chauhan, Kartik Aggarwal and Mohommad Saquib Ansari, students of the one year full-time residential Executive Post Graduate Programme (EPGP).
‘Chanakya’ is a computer-based simulated game that sensitizes and strengthens business acumen in students, where participants are handed a hypothetical company to run a business. A team of four participants from an organization form a company and run it in a virtual environment created by the organizers. This year, more than 200 teams participated in the contest including teams from the prestigious IIML, Nirma Institute and XIME. The winning team received cash prize and gift hampers worth INR 35000.
Winners in the competition were judged based on the strategies of their virtual company and cumulative profit earned by their company.
According to Mohit Chouhan, one of the members of IIMB’s winning team, it was a tough competition that tested their business acumen. “It was a great learning experience,” he adds.
