Bengaluru, September 23, 2016: It was a packed auditorium on Day 1 of Vista 2016, the annual business fest organized by the FII Club of IIM Bangalore, as Railways Minister Suresh Prabhu addressed the students of IIM Bangalore and other colleges via video conference.
Emphasizing the importance of digital technology for the world and particularly for India, Suresh Prabhu recounted his meeting with the CEO of a multinational technology corporation, during which the CEO mentioned that almost ninety percent of companies were not ready or insufficiently prepared to adapt to changing times. The minister cautioned that companies, even well-established firms, which do not keep pace with the changes that come about with growth of digital technology, would face difficult times.
Urging students to keep an open and flexible mind to adopt and use new technology in order to avoid becoming obsolete, he encouraged students and young business professionals to think of ideas and innovative ways to make our society more open to accepting developments in the digital technology sphere.
