Dr. Nagasimha Balakrishna Kanagal, IIMB faculty, Marketing area, and Chairperson, IIMB Management Review, states that the IMR Doctoral Conference has established itself as a benchmark annual event for doctoral students in management and social sciences in India, adding that publication in IMR will make a researcher’s work visible to a wide national and international readership and help take the research work forward.
Dr. Sreelata Jonnalagedda, Conference Co-Chair and IIM faculty in the Marketing area, shares details on the conference structure.
Dr. Pradeep Chintagunta, Joseph T. and Bernice S. Lewis Distinguished Service Professor of Marketing, Booth School of Business, University of Chicago, USA, delivers the keynote address on ‘Trends in Research in Marketing’ during the conference.
Professor Rajan Varadarajan, Mays Business School, Texas A&M University, leads a workshop on ‘Crafting Manuscripts for and Publishing in Scholarly Journals in Business Disciplines: Some Guideposts’ on Day 1 of IMRDC 2015.
The highlight of Day 2 of the conference was a workshop titled, ‘From Formulating a Research Question to Collaboration and Publication: Lessons from Effectuation Research in Entrepreneurship’, by Professor Saras D Sarasvathy, Darden School of Business, University of Virginia and Visiting Faculty, IIMB.
Dr. Sourav Mukherji, Dean of Academic Programmes, IIMB, makes a point that India needs high quality research that can help deal with the challenges of poverty, inequality, climate change and sustainability, during the valedictory ceremony of the two-day conference.
KGLN Murthy, Regional Manager - SBM Bancassurance, Bangalore Region, hands over the first prize, the SBI Life Award, to Saipriya Kamath, ISB Hyderabad, for her paper ‘Once Bitten Once Shy: Learning or Risk-Aversion after Audit Failure?’ during the Awards Presentation at IMRDC 2015.
Dr. Sourav Mukherji, Dean of Academic Programmes, IIMB, presents the second prize, the IIM Bangalore Award, to Sandip Trada, doctoral student at IIM Indore, for his paper ‘The Poisoning Role of Perceived Unfairness on Channel Partners’ Opportunism’. Sandip was the joint winner of the second prize.
Kshitij Awasthi, doctoral student at IIM Bangalore, receives the joint award for his paper ‘Effect of Political Directors on Profit Persistence: Evidence from India’, from Dr. Sourav Mukherji, Dean of Academic Programmes, IIMB.
V. Sudheendra Murthy, Chief Manager, Canara Bank, presents the third prize, the Canara Bank Award, to the joint winner Tarun Jain, doctoral student at IIM Bangalore, for his paper ‘Excess Procurement Strategies under Competition’.
