Applications invited for the Academy of Management Journal's Paper and Idea Development Workshop

The editors of the Academy of Management Journal (AMJ) invite applications for a Paper and Idea Development Workshop to be hosted by Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB) on February 17 and 18, 2018. The purpose of the workshop is to develop ideas and working manuscripts with the aim of later submission for review at AMJ. Consistent with the mission of AMJ, submissions on all management-relevant topics, at all levels of analysis, and using all empirical methods are invited for the workshop. Submissions approved for inclusion in the workshop will be those judged to make potentially significant and novel theoretical and empirical contributions to the field.
About the Workshop
The workshop is a one-and-a-half day event and will include presentations by AMJ’s editorial team as well as presentations and roundtable discussions from participants. This event is sponsored by IIM Bangalore and will be hosted in its beautiful 100-acre campus in the heart of Bangalore city. A tentative agenda is given below.
Application Process
Participation in the workshop is by application only. In order to maximize the number of projects discussed at the event, only one author per project will be able to attend. Interested scholars should submit an extended abstract (between 5 and 10 pages of text) of their project proposal by December 15, 2017 to Jason Shaw (jason[dot]shaw[at]polyu[dot]edu[dot]hk). The abstract should describe the project, the intended theoretical contribution, the research design, the empirical approach, and the status of the project idea to date.
