The 2021 Global Trading Challenge by Bloomberg for Education saw around 3,000 people participating, featuring 488 teams and 14,445 trades. The data was segregated into schools and countries, and a leaderboard was constructed for each region. During the contest, all the participants gained immense experience and insight into the challenges and opportunities of successful investing.
The Bloomberg Trading Challenge, according to its website, is the only university investment competition to take place entirely within the Bloomberg Terminal. Teams of three to five students, led by a faculty advisor, will use the Terminal to define market assumptions, develop a return-generating strategy, and execute trades over a closed network. The winning team will have the highest Relative P&L, relative to the Bloomberg World Large, Mid & Small Cap Price Return Index (WLS Index).
