Prof. P C Narayan receives ‘Teaching Innovator’ award from MHRD

15 February, 2019, Bengaluru: Professor P C Narayan, adjunct faculty in the Finance & Accounting area of IIM Bangalore, has received the ‘Teaching Innovator’ award from the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, for higher education and innovation in the area of teaching method. The award was presented to him by Prakash Javadekar, Minister of Human Resource Development, Government of India, at a function organized on January 04, 2019.
The award function was hosted at the Pravasi Bharatiya Kendra, Chanakyapuri, New Delhi, and was attended, among others, by the Minister of State for HRD Dr. Satya Pal Singh and other senior officials from the HRD ministry. The award includes a certificate, silver medal and cash prize from the HRD ministry.
The ‘Teaching Innovator’ award winners were declared in September 2017 but the award function took place only on January 04, 2019.
Professor Narayan was selected for the ‘Teaching Innovator’ award in 2016. He is the recipient of the ‘Emerald/EFMD Outstanding Doctoral Research Award 2013’, the ‘Distinguished Alumnus Award - 2016’ from the National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirapalli, India and ‘Award for Teaching Excellence’ from the Indus Foundation, Indo-US Education Summit, 2016.
Prof. Narayan was a member of the UID Advisory Group that formulated the contours of the ‘Aadhaar’ project in India. His papers have been published/presented in various reputed academic journals and conferences. He has consulted for and trained managers in several organizations in India and abroad including banks, manufacturing companies and information technology companies.
