Gokarna, Uttara Kannada district, Karnataka: Assessing the sustainability of multi-village drinking water supply systems

This case study explores the progress of JJM in Gokarna MVS and covers six Gram Panchayats – Gokarna, Hiregutti, Bargi, Hanehalli, Nadumaskeri, and Torke. There are 19 villages in these six GPs, which receive water through MVS.

Ganjam district, Odisha: Functioning of single village drinking water supply schemes

This study explores the functioning of water supply systems in five villages in the district. It highlights the significance of institutional support (Gram Vikas, in this case) and the need for building community ownership. It also offers policy recommendations based on findings that support a demand-driven water supply strategy.

Tumkuru district, Karnataka: Drinking water supply models for schools – Case Studies of JJM in providing safe and potable water

The researchers examine WASH facilities in four schools and examine awareness among students before and after the intervention activities. They also suggest action plans for schools to enhance of the impact of WASH.

Ujjain district, Madhya Pradesh: Rural area research study on water charges, collection, and O&M structure

A reconnaissance survey was conducted to understand MVS and SVS functionality and operations in select villages in the district. The purpose of this visit was to understand how charges, under JJM, are calculated and collected from households.
