About the speaker: Dr. Emily Garbinsky earned her PhD in Marketing from Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business and a BS from Carnegie Mellon University, double majoring in Psychology and Decision Science. Prior to joining Cornell, she was a faculty of Marketing at the University of Notre Dame's Mendoza College of Business.

Her area of expertise is consumer financial well-being. She has published articles in leading journals, such as the Journal of Consumer Research, the Journal of Marketing Research, the Journal of Marketing, the Journal of Consumer Psychology, and Psychological Science. Her research has also been featured in the popular press. 

Dr. Garbinsky has also won several prestigious research awards. Most recently, she was chosen as a Marketing Science Institute Young Scholar, a select honor intended to identify likely leaders of the next generation of marketing academics.
