IIM Bangalore to host launch of Dr. Anil K. Khandelwal’s ‘The Gym of Leadership’, on 27 January
Former Chairman, Bank of Baroda, authors a practical guide to building leadership muscles
7 January, 2025, Bengaluru: IIM Bangalore is set to host the launch of ‘The gym of leadership- Insights to help you build your leadership muscles’, by Dare to Lead author Dr. Anil K. Khandelwal, Former Chairman & Managing Director, Bank of Baroda, on 27 January 2025, at 5 pm, in Classroom N-001.
The gym of leadership offers a fresh take on leadership, inspired by the philosophy of a seasoned transformational leader. The author likens the journey of developing leadership capabilities to building physical and mental fitness, with both demanding passion, discipline, and relentless dedication. The book challenges the age-old notion that leadership is reserved for the inherently gifted, arguing instead that anyone with fundamental human qualities can grow into the role. The author credits his own evolution as a leader to ‘mindset over circumstance’, emphasizing that “experience alone doesn’t count; it’s the attitude and spirit that matter”.
The book launch will open with a welcome address by Prof. Gopal Mahapatra, Chairperson, OB&HRM area, followed by introductions to the author, Dr. Khandelwal, and IIMB Director Prof. Rishikesha T Krishnan, who will officially unveil the book.
A panel discussion featuring Prof. Mahapatra, Dr. Khandelwal, and eminent business leaders will follow, with a Q&A session marking the end of the event.
