Aabhar 2025: IIMB Student Affairs Council felicitates administrative staff of the Institute on 27 March

An evening of gratitude, celebration, and reflection ahead of IIMB’s 50th Convocation

28 March, 2025, Bengaluru: The Student Affairs Council (SAC) of IIM Bangalore, representing the PGP and PGPBA batch of 2025, organized ‘Aabhar’, a felicitation ceremony honoring key personnel and staff members from various administrative offices, student clubs/societies and organizing committees, who played a crucial role in shaping campus life through their dedicated contributions during the 2023-25 academic year.

The event took place at the Open-Air Theatre (OAT) on the evening of 27 March 2025, marking the eve of IIMB’s milestone 50th Convocation.

As part of the event, administrative support functions including Programme offices, the Career Development Services office, the Office of Diversity and Inclusion, the Communications office, the Estate Office, Security, the Alumni Relations office, the Office of the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), and Student Welfare (including hostel and mess services), among others, were felicitated by the SAC.

In the midst of students, faculty, and non-teaching staff members of the IIMB community, Prof. Rishikesha T. Krishnan, Director, IIMB, emphasized the importance of strong student leadership in building a vibrant academic and cultural environment. “The enthusiasm and commitment of our students have been instrumental in upholding a culture of belonging”. Addressing the graduating cohort, he added, “The opportunity of being in this room offers you access to interactions that have the potential to be truly transformational. My hope for you is that you harness these experiences not only toward personal growth, but also to create purposeful impact that serves the public good”.

Also in attendance were the Deans of the Institute, Prof. Mukta Kulkarni, Dean Programmes, who spoke of the passion and drive displayed by the students, while Prof. Dinesh Kumar, Dean Faculty, spoke of the importance of spirituality and continuous learning. Prof. Jayadev Madugula, Dean Administration, and Prof. Sourav Mukherji, Dean Alumni Relations and Development, expressed their appreciation for the students' collaborative spirit and welcomed them into the IIMB Alumni Association (IIMBAA) fraternity, where they stand to join a community of 26000+ graduates of the Institute.

As the graduating batch prepares to step into the next phase of their lives, PGP Chairperson Prof. Manaswini Bhalla offered words of wisdom on embracing new challenges and opportunities. Prof. Rajluxmi V Murthy, Chairperson, Student Welfare, shared her experience of supporting the batch through their journey, while Career Development Services (CDS) Chair Prof. Nishant Kumar Verma encouraged students to forge their own paths and make meaningful contributions in their careers.

The ceremony also included a poignant moment wherein the parents of our PGP student Nilay Kailashbhai Patel accepted a certificate on his behalf, which was followed by a solemn moment of silence in his memory.
