Japanese Universities Interaction

1. Building Networks in Japan

In November and December 2023, Professor Jaideep Sarkar, Chairperson of MIJSC, and Mr. Saideep Rathnam, Chief Operating Officer of MIJSC, visited Japan to engage with existing partner universities, including Waseda University and Hitotsubashi University, as well as potential partners such as Meiji University, Hiroshima University, and Nagoya University. These visits aimed to explore new academic initiatives, enhance collaboration, and discuss opportunities for faculty and student exchanges.

2. Executive MBA immersion from Waseda University

September 19, 2023: Waseda University executives pursuing their MBA participated in a one-day immersive program at MIJSC. Professor Sarkar led a session on “Indian Innovation,” while Mr. Rathnam provided insights into the “India-Japan Business Culture and Language Dynamics.”

February 14, 2024: Following the success of the initial program, a second group of senior executives engaged in Executive MBA program focused on a session on “Frugal Innovation.” This program also featured a session with a Japan-based consultant and an interactive discussion with a prominent Indian woman entrepreneur from NSRCEL, covering “The Opportunities and Challenges of Startups in India.”

3. Nagoya University's Immersive Business Exchange at MIJSC

February 23, 2024: Aspiring entrepreneurs and students from Nagoya University visited MIJSC for an immersive learning session where they presented business proposals after engaging with Indian businesses.

In October-November 2024, Professor Sarkar visited Nagoya University to teach courses on Innovation and Indian Innovation, fostering greater academic collaboration and shared learning between institutions.
