The mission of the IIMB-RERI can be summarized along key functional and topical goals. We strive to achieve excellence in the following five functional domains while keeping a focus on issues impacting real estate:

• Research: Undertake scientific inter-disciplinary research that is not only publishable in leading peer-reviewed academic journals but can also be applied to solve major problems faced by the government and other stakeholders.

• Policy and Community Outreach: Shape public policy through research insights that are based on sound data and work with stakeholders in implementation of key solutions.

• Data: Collect, organize and disseminate high quality data to promote research and transparency and create a central repository of knowledge and data (from both public and private sources) for development of the industry.

• Training: Educate and train stakeholders including government through general and custom programmes and facilitate development of standards for best practices within the industry.

• Sectoral Innovation and Entrepreneurship: Nurture and drive cutting-edge solutions to chronic problems ailing the sector through innovation and entrepreneurship
