At IIMB-RERI, we practice a 360° three-way engagement model with the sector. We are well connected and regularly engage with the policy makers at one end, the developer and builder community as well as consumers as a community. In the past, we have worked with the Central Government as well as various state governments and their agencies like the National Housing Bank, HUDCO, etc. We engage at all levels, starting with the Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) all the way up to the Central Government.
Our report on the Stamp Duty waiver to affordable housing was well received and accepted by the Government of India (full report here and here), and implemented by various state governments (Maharashtra, Karnataka, etc.). Also, in the past, we have developed portals like www.rajakaluve.org to help RE consumers at large.
