Shwetha Pai is a researcher with IIMB-RERI since 2019. She is an architect-urban planner and has over 15 years of experience in the Real Estate sector. She is a member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS). Prior to joining IIMB, Shwetha served as the head of the Real Estate Research and Consultancy at Meraqi Advisors Private Limited, a Real Estate Investment Management firm in Bangalore. Her areas of expertise include Development Advisory, Corporate Real Estate, Urban Infrastructure Advisory and Real Estate Research.

She has also worked with International Property Consultancies such as Vestian Global Workplace Services and UGL Equis in Bangalore where she managed the accounts of key clients ranging from leading national and international developers, PE funds, government agencies, non-profit organizations and land owners. She has an in-depth knowledge about the key real estate markets, regulations and policies in India and has worked on a wide range of assignments covering residential, commercial, industrial and hospitality sectors. In her roles she has advised clients on a wide range of subjects including market conditions, pricing strategies, project feasibilities, valuation, market entry and project marketing strategies. She has contributed periodically to newspaper articles and has co-authored several industry white papers.

Shwetha is currently also a visiting faculty at SJB School of Architecture and Planning, Bangalore. Shwetha holds a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from Bangalore University and a Master’s degree in Urban Planning from School of Planning and Architecture, New Delhi. She is the gold medalist of her batch in Urban Planning.
